Clothing
When putting on clothes — past sins are forgiven
Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee kasaanee haadhath-thawba wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minnee wa laa quwwah
All praise is for Allah who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power nor might from myself.
— Abu Dawud 4023
When wearing a new garment
Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta kasawtaneeh, as-aluka min khayrihi wa khayri maa suni'a lah, wa a'oodhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri maa suni'a lah
O Allah, all praise is Yours — You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.
— Abu Dawud 4020
To someone wearing new clothes
Tublee wa yukhliful-laahu ta'aalaa
May you wear it out, and may Allah the Exalted give you another in its place.
— Abu Dawud 4020
When undressing — a screen between the eyes of the jinn and us
Bismillaah
In the name of Allah.
— Tirmidhi 606
