Privacy policy

This policy explains what Nusayr (“the app” and “the site”, operated by Mohammed Basheer Ahmed) collects, why, and the choices you have. By using Nusayr you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Profile details you provide. Your name, phone number and city — used to identify you and to let a Nusayr representative follow up on packages you show interest in.

Enquiry details. When you send an enquiry or request a callback, we collect what you type: your name, mobile number, city, traveller count and message. Browsing the website requires no account and no personal data.

Approximate location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times, the Qibla direction and local weather. Coordinates are sent to prayer-time, weather and place-search providers to return those results. We do not use continuous background tracking, and you can refuse or revoke the permission at any time — the app then falls back to the city you choose manually.

Package interest.When you tap “Interested” on a package, we store that interest (a “lead”) so we can contact you about it.

Giving enquiries. If you offer to contribute to a cause, we store your name, city, mobile number and — only if you choose to state one — the amount you intend to give, so that we can call you back. Nusayr never collects or holds the money itself: you give to the cause directly.

On-device preferences and records.Settings such as your chosen city, calculation method and appearance, and personal records such as saved du'as, tasbeeh counts, prayer, qaza and fasting logs and bookmarks, are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules prayer, jamaat and reminder alerts on your device using the operating system's alarm scheduler. Prayer times are time-critical to the minute, which is why the app requests permission to schedule exact alarms. Scheduling happens entirely on the device — no push service is used, and nothing about your prayer habits is sent anywhere. You can turn any of them off in Settings, or revoke the notification permission in your device settings.

How we use it

To provide prayer times and religious tools, to show and follow up on Umrah packages you are interested in, and to improve Nusayr. Enquiry details are shared only with the verified travel agency whose package you enquired about, or used by the Nusayr team to call you back when you asked us to. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Services we share data with

• Supabase — hosts our database of profiles, packages, leads and enquiries. Data is stored in Mumbai, India.
• Al Adhan API — returns prayer times and Qibla direction for your city or coordinates.
• Open-Meteo — returns weather for the holy cities and for your city.
• Photon (Komoot) — turns what you type into a city, and your coordinates into a place name, when you set your location.
• Quran.com and recitation CDNs— serve the Qur'an text and audio you open.

These providers process only what is needed to return the requested result. Network requests always use encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

Who can see your data

Access is restricted by role: a travel agency sees only the enquiries for its own packages. Personal records are not readable by other users of the app.

Your choices and rights

You can deny or revoke the location and notification permissions at any time in your device settings.

You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app, under Settings → Delete account. This removes your data from the device and deletes your profile and leads from our servers.

You can also request deletion without opening the app — email support@nusayr.com or use the account deletion page, and we will delete your records and confirm when it is done. Consent to be contacted applies per enquiry: we only call about what you asked.

Data retention

We keep your profile, leads and enquiries only as long as needed to serve you or as required by law, and remove them on request.

Children

Nusayr is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
